A 'Lightness Of Being' — The Pinnacle Of Success
I read "Happiness Forever" at age 16, and it transformed my perspective from teenage cynicism to appreciation for life. Despite technological changes — from the pre-social media era to today's Instagram and AI landscape — humanity faces the same cultural stressors.
The ultimate flex in life is not to be financially rich, nor to grow old gracefully, but to feel good in your mind, body, and spirit. I call this "levity" — a lightness of being that is not the automatic default mode of human existence. It must be deliberately cultivated.
This levity is distinct from physical wellness or mental sharpness. It's an emotional state that emerges when lifestyle, pain levels, and meaningful relationships align. Different groups seek it differently — hedonists through celebration, religious practitioners through prayer, seekers through altered states — yet all pursue the same fundamental goal.
Modern life systematically undermines levity through endless obligations, news cycles of despair, and profit-driven systems that prioritize accumulation over wellness. The problem isn't lack of knowledge about what makes humans happy — it's that every system around us is designed to extract attention and energy rather than cultivate genuine wellbeing.
Through mBIT coaching, I've observed that this lightness emerges when three neural networks — head, heart, and gut — operate in coherence rather than conflict. HeartMath research shows that coherent heart rhythms correlate with improved cognitive function, emotional regulation, and decision quality.
The vision is cultural transformation where collective focus shifts from profit and self-destructive indulgences toward comprehensive wellness cultivation — from morning to night, in all that we do.
