We think resilience means toughing things out, but that's just endurance - and it's exhausting. Here's what's really happening: You've been trained to either avoid stress completely or muscle through it with willpower. Neither approach builds genuine resilience.
The False Resilience Trap
Your grandfather's generation had natural resilience training built into daily life. They walked everywhere, handled physical challenges regularly, and recovered without overthinking it. Today, we avoid discomfort and then wonder why small stresses feel overwhelming. Section 1 — Why the 73.6% Don't Act
The biases specific to deliberate stress
